Privacy Notice

This notice describes what information Lake County Released Inmates receives, how that information is used, and when another party may receive it. It applies to visits, search-tool use, and messages sent through the site. Using the site means accepting the practices described here. Government records reached through an outbound link remain under the control of the Lake County Sheriff, Oregon Department of Corrections, courts, or other office that holds them.

Information You Choose to Send

Terms Entered in Search

A name, place, or other term submitted through a search tool is transmitted to the outside search provider that operates that tool. Lake County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query under its own policy and service terms. Review those terms before submitting information that you consider sensitive.

Messages Sent to Us

If you send an email or use a contact form, we retain the message and the contact details supplied with it long enough to review and answer the request. We do not share a message outside the organization unless doing so is required by law. Do not send confidential case material, identity documents, or information intended for the Lake County Sheriff, Lake County Jail, Oregon DOC, or another government office.

Technical Details Collected Automatically

Ordinary web systems create technical records when a page loads. These records help deliver pages, measure performance, and diagnose faults. The information may include:

  • The internet protocol address used for the visit
  • The browser name and version
  • The device category and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them
  • The referring website, when one is provided

Privacy Beyond This Domain

Links may lead to Lake County Sheriff and jail resources, Oregon DOC and VISOR services, court portals, release records, federal custody tools, or third-party search services. Once you follow an outbound link, that operator’s privacy policy governs the information you provide and the activity recorded there. Lake County Released Inmates does not control an outside service’s retention, security, cookies, or data practices.

Oregon government records may be accessed or reviewed under the Oregon Public Records Law, ORS 192.311 through 192.478, subject to exemptions and other limits. That public-record framework does not turn a government portal into part of this site. Advertising partners may also measure activity across websites to select targeted advertising. Any such tracking occurs through their systems and policies, not through a Lake County government database operated here.

We do not sell personal data. Information may still be processed or disclosed to a limited set of recipients when needed for the functions described in this notice:

Visitors Younger Than Eighteen

Lake County Released Inmates is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted personal information, use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.

Choices About Your Information

Depending on the information involved and applicable law, you may ask us to:

  • Provide a copy of personal information we hold about you
  • Correct personal information that is inaccurate
  • Delete personal information held by us
  • Stop or limit certain processing where an opt-out applies

These requests apply to information controlled by this site. A release record held by Lake County Jail, Oregon DOC, a court, or another agency must be addressed to that record custodian under its own rules.
